Families
Dr Janaka is available for tele consult appointments to patients (consumers) from birth to 16 years. Dr Janaka now also offers In-Person appointments in Bendigo. Tele consult appointments are available after hours on weekdays and Saturday mornings.
Your child must have a valid referral from a GP addressed to Dr Tennakoon prior to making an appointment.

Meet Dr Janaka Tennakoon
Consultant Paediatrician
MBBS DCH MD (Paediatrics) FRACP
Dr Janaka Tennakoon is a highly qualified and dedicated paediatrician with extensive experience in general paediatrics, particularly interested in Neonatology, neurodevelopmental and behavioural disorders. He is qualified to perform Autism Spectrum Disorder assessments (ADOS and 3di). Dr Tennakoon has conducted diabetic and endocrinology clinics in Bendigo and Mildura over the past ten years and has experience in insulin pump management.
He is committed to providing Specialist Paediatric care in the country and rural areas, having worked in Bendigo and contributed to outreach services in Swan Hill.
Dr Tennakoon strives to advance his professional development further and contribute to the medical community. He has been involved in quality assurance and clinical governance and continues to regularly teach and mentor Medical Students, Junior Doctors and other health staff. He supervises OTP (Overseas trained physician). Dr Tennakoon also got a Master’s in Health Administration from the University of Monash.
