Important: Private Fees apply for all Face to Face consultations and Private Telehealth. These clinics are independent of the bulk billing clinic and switching is not possible at a later time.

Meet Dr Janaka Tennakoon
Consultant Paediatrician
MBBS, DCH, MD (Paediatrics), FRACP, MHA (Master of Health Administration)
Dr Janaka Tennakoon is a highly qualified and dedicated Consultant Paediatrician with extensive experience in General Paediatrics. His special interest areas include Neonatology, Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Disorders. He is qualified to perform Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments (ADOS and 3Di).
Over the past 15 years, Dr Tennakoon has conducted Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinics in Bendigo and Mildura, gaining significant expertise in insulin pump management.
Dr Tennakoon is passionate about improving access to specialist paediatric care for rural and regional communities. He has worked extensively in Bendigo, Metropolitan Melbourne, Regional Victoria and also contributed to outreach services in Swan Hill.
In 2020, Dr Tennakoon established his Online Paediatric Clinic Telehealth Clinic to support families across Australia. Due to increasing demand, he expanded his clinics in 2025 to include face-to-face in person consultation in Bendigo.
For Practitioners
Dr Janaka is committed supporting your patients from birth-16 years old with timely paediatric care. He can now offer consultations via telehealth and In-Person. He is available for appointments on Weekdays after hours and Saturday mornings.

We provide Paediatric Telehealth services to Australian families for after hours and on weekend.
Note: Bulk billed appointment (approximately 8 months waiting list) and Private billing appointments (approximately 90 days) are available. (Please note estimated wait times may vary depending on demand)

How do I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment once a referral has been arranged. Your GP can email the referral to info@onlinepaediatricclinic.au.

What is the cost?
We offer two options for appointments:
- Private Fee Paying clinic (shorter wait times) – Initial and any subsequent appointment will incur fees payable via Hot Doc.
- Bulk Billing Clinic (longer wait times)
Unfortunately if you do not hold a valid Medicare card we won’t be able to provide you a consultation.
